Victor was working at his desk. He fiddled with the small model in his hand, studying its structure while comparing it against the figures on the blueprint, occasionally scribbling notes and corrections onto the design.

Although his field of study had little to do with building rockets, it was still engineering, and he understood the fundamentals. Besides, he had discovered that after becoming partially mechanized, he thought faster than before. The moment a thought occurred to him, much of the information he needed would immediately surface in his mind, as though it had been knowledge he possessed all along. It greatly stirred his desire to explore. He wanted to know just how far he could go.

Just as he was focused on his work, several surveillance feeds suddenly appeared before his eyes. Victor frowned, set down the model, rose from the desk, and headed for the door.

Through the security cameras under his control, he saw several police cars approaching the headquarters. When he reached the entrance, the police cars had already arrived. A figure stepped out of one of them, and the instant Victor saw him, his pupils contracted sharply.

Neog Sohip, the head of Sky Eye, spoke. "Is this the Justice League headquarters?"

"Yes." Victor was visibly wary. "We're a legal organization. What are you here for?"

He should have acted more aggressively, but he knew he was the only one in the base right now, so he lacked confidence. Bruce had said he was going back to get something. It was probably better that he was not here—if a fight broke out, Bruce could get hurt.
