After a round of questioning and investigation, an officer came over, saluted Barry, and said, "Sorry, sir, but there's some bad news."
"What?" Barry asked.
"Those two cunning Martians may have desecrated your parents' graves. When we went there to investigate, we found the coffins had been opened and the graves were already empty."
"What?!!!" Barry nearly jumped into the air. "How could this happen?!!"
"We suspect they needed an excuse for their infiltration. To pretend they had come back from the dead, they needed to stage a resurrection scene. That's why they dug up the graves, removed your parents' original remains, and pretended they had crawled out of them. It would make their disguise more convincing."
"Oh my God!" Barry said incredulously. "Where did they take my parents' bodies?!"
"We're still investigating," the officer said. "These may be the first living Martians we've captured. The higher-ups intend to hand them over to the federal government and have the most qualified experts study them. But the president..."
"We'll explain it," Hal said. "But you'd better be professional enough. If you can't give us an explanation, the president may be very angry."
"Don't worry," the officer said. "We've been conducting espionage sweeps for so long without any results. Now that we've finally caught live ones, we want credit too."
After leaving the police station, Barry let out a long sigh. "I need to go to the cemetery. At the very least, I need to restore my parents' graves first."
"I'll go with you. Green Lantern energy might come in handy," Hal said with a nod.
