In the Batcave, Bruce stared at the surveillance screen. On it, Diana had successfully returned to Amazon and awakened from unconsciousness amid a circle of female warriors.

When Diana woke, she was still somewhat dazed. She instinctively looked behind her. There was a golden portal there, clearly not a passage opened by the Amazon queen, but some other unfamiliar power.

He leaned back against his chair, spun the swivel chair around, and said to Schiller beside him, "It worked."

Schiller was studying several documents in his hands. Without looking up, he said, "Good. With the Boom Tube, efficiency will be much higher. How is Diana?"

"She's fine," Bruce said. "We have her to thank for this."

"Are you going to tell her The Truth?"

"After this is over."

Bruce saw Diana slowly walk toward Steve on the surveillance screen. She knelt halfway before him, seemingly wanting to touch his face, but just then, Steve's eyelids twitched.

As if startled, Diana immediately pulled back her hand. When those azure eyes opened, Diana froze there for a long while. Though the surveillance device was on her, Bruce could still tell that she was crying, just as she had on Christmas Eve.

The day before Christmas Eve, everyone in the Justice League was preparing for Christmas, except Diana, who was in low spirits. Bruce noticed, so when Diana was sitting alone at the bar tasting wine, he went over and sat beside her.

"You don't have a habit of celebrating Christmas, do you?" Bruce asked.

"Not when I was in Amazon, but after living in Metropolis for so many years, I sometimes join in the fun." Diana smiled, but it was a faint smile.

"I don't really like Christmas either." Bruce lifted his glass and took a sip, then said, "My closest family
