"But tell me this," Barry said indignantly. "You shot him in the neck and still claim you didn't mean to kill him?"

"Then what would you say if I used Car Accidents?"

Barry opened his mouth, but for a moment, he really didn't know how to refute that. In theory, an explosion was no more likely to kill Superman than a gunshot. The difficulty was like ninety-nine versus one hundred; there was not much real difference. Even with Kryptonite involved, the two methods were not fundamentally different—one was a precise sniper shot, the other a shrapnel blast. Both aimed to drive Kryptonite into Superman's body.

But the problem was that a sniper rifle hit its target precisely and would not hurt the people nearby. Car Accidents were another matter entirely.

That place had already been jammed up like Snoke's, with several cars squeezed together. A whole bunch of people had even gotten out of their cars just to argue. If a bomb in one of those vehicles had gone off, it would have been an absolute catastrophe.

"If I were an Assassin, I'd create Car Accidents," Lex said shamelessly. "I know Superman is a good person. He would never abandon ordinary people who needed protection. So I'd precisely control the yield, injure without killing, and blow up a whole crowd. Superman wouldn't be able to leave."

"Even if the bomb couldn't hurt Superman, as long as the injured people held him up and kept him busy saving them, then even a not-so-skilled sniper could hit his vital points. Wouldn't that be far simpler, more brutal, and more effective than using some contraption with a compound bow and having to catch the right moment?"
