"I'll go to Federal Shield and find someone to help," Jena said, looking at Victor. "But it'd be best if Brainiac gave the order. Otherwise, Amanda might think we're meddling."

Victor nodded. He did not care about that. As long as they could freeze the entire underground area, that was enough. He did not want anyone committing crimes to disgust him again. As for how to get himself out of this case, Victor was not worried either.

First of all, the killer was behind the times. Or rather, this was already the best Dense Ice equipment he could get his hands on. The rest were all in Gotham University's cryogenic laboratory, and that was not somewhere just anyone could enter.

Victor Fries's signature on those outdated commercial devices was already very faint, because they had been around for far too many years and used relatively ordinary freezing methods. They did not have the personal flair of true Dense Ice. That alone was not enough for a conviction.

But Schiller was not as optimistic as he was. After thinking for a moment, he said, "If they want to frame the two of us, they can't possibly be doing only this superficial work. Keep an eye on your lab."

Victor paused. He had been about to say that nothing could happen to his laboratory, but then he remembered Chick. The killer might not be able to break in directly, but that did not mean he could not find a way to manipulate the students. If it really was Hugo, manipulating one or two students would be child's play for him.

"Let's go back to the university first." Victor no longer looked anxious at all.

That was the only good news. Schiller could tell that this case had thoroughly enraged Victor.
