When Schiller heard that name, he froze for a moment. In the United States, "Jane Doe" was a placeholder name. Generally, if a woman did not wish to appear under her real name, she would call herself "Jane Doe." Sometimes, when the police encountered an unclaimed female corpse, they used that name for her as well, much like "Zhang San and Li Si" in Chinese.

There was more than one character with that name, but the one Schiller remembered most clearly was Jane Doe, Ms. Unknown. She was an exceptionally skilled disguise artist who carried out all manner of missions by stealing other people's identities.

But calling her a professional Assassin would not have been entirely accurate. Sometimes she worked for others, but sometimes she acted purely out of personal interest. She loved stealing all kinds of identities to satisfy that interest.

Schiller glanced over the other corpses, still somewhat puzzled. These Living Corpses should all have been gathered here by the Black Death Emperor, but Jane Doe was not a Living Corpse. Why had she come here too?

Besides, when Schiller had injected the corpses with the Joker Virus Solution earlier, Jane Doe must have been unconscious. Otherwise, he would have been able to tell.

Jane Doe clutched her head, gritting her teeth as she drew in a pained breath. "Damn it, I underestimated this crap. If I'd known, I wouldn't have looked..."

"You didn't find this place on your own, did you?"

Jane Doe sighed. "I got here the same way you did. You can't fool me. You came looking for the Blood Tide too, didn't you?"

Schiller's hand paused. He had never heard that name, but he could roughly guess that the Blood Tide referred to Hugo Strange's current condition. Jonathan Crane truly was Gotham's number one
