The others all frowned at that. It was practically a bald-faced lie. Captain America pressed his lips together, then said, "Tony, I know you don't actually like admitting defeat. But we really did..."
Main Universe Iron Man closed his eyes and shook his head. He said, "The superheroes' different lives, their advanced technology, that strange Doctor—those are all just differences in surface presentation. Before, that was all we could see."
Hawkeye seemed to catch on. He said, "We haven't had much contact with them, and we don't really know them, so all we could see was the surface."
"Yes. But after dealing with Central Universe Iron Man, I realized that compared to what we have in common, those surface differences don't matter."
That did sound rather arrogant, because those supposedly insignificant surface differences were enormous. But they all believed Iron Man would not say something so self-contradictory, so they simply listened in silence.
"What we have in common is that we changed each other with love, then changed the entire world together," Main Universe Iron Man said, looking at them. "On this point, the Avengers of almost every universe are the same. The Central Universe is no exception."
"Then why do they seem so exceptionally different? Do they just have an exceptional amount of love?" Black Widow felt that argument did not quite hold up.
"Because the one they changed was Schiller, and Schiller was also the one who changed them," Main Universe Iron Man said. "Schiller is indeed a key factor. His differences created the Central Universe's differences. But what matters is not how different he is from all of us. What matters is what he has in common with all of us—he can be changed by his friends' love."
