"How's the front line?" the local Captain America asked, sitting up from his hospital bed. He tore the bandages off his head in a few quick motions. He had indeed been injured there before, but it had healed before he even left the operating room.

"Which front line do you mean?" Nick asked. "Manhattan's basically fine now. The roads have all been repaired. As for the Solar System..."

Nick shook his head, and Captain America knew the situation was bad. Fighting in space was different from fighting on Earth. Space was three-dimensional. The so-called Jupiter line was not actually a line, but the entirety of Jupiter's orbit—a three-dimensional space surrounding the sun. The strength needed to blockade an army across such an enormous distance was almost unimaginable.

The only reason they had managed it was mainly thanks to the Mutants' overwhelming power, as well as Stark sneaking in and using his mechanical army to hold off the enemy's mechanical army, which was how the deadlock had formed.

But the problem was that the Shi'ar Empire's troops were still pouring through the portal in an endless stream. At this rate, no one could possibly hold out. The Solar System seemed huge, but before an army of this level, physically filling up the Solar System was not difficult. When that time came, forget Jupiter—even the moon would be packed with people. Then there really would be no way back.

So the most urgent issue now was to hurry up and close the portal in the sun. But that looked like a completely impossible mission. First of all, they could not manipulate the sun, much less reach deep into its core. Secondly, they could not make heads or tails of that portal, and had no idea how to shut it down.
