Schiller was still the earliest to rise. The wild storm in the middle of the night hadn't disturbed his sleep at all; instead, it had left him dreamless, and he woke in the morning feeling refreshed. When he pushed open the window, only a fine drizzle was still falling, rainwater dripping down along the veins of broad-leaved plants. A rich aroma of coffee drifted in from outside the door.
"Morning, Mr. Coffee." Stark yawned, casually grabbed a blanket from the sofa, draped it over himself, and sank into the cushions, ready to go back to sleep. But soon, the sound of Matt making a video call woke him up again.
"Look, Little Jack, can you see your Uncle Steve?" Matt came over with his phone and got Steve in the frame. Steve smiled and greeted the person on the other end, but quickly realized something. "Where did you get a signal?"
"No signal. This is Battleworld communication. Elektra took the kid to Battleworld, and her counterparts are entertaining him."
"How did I forget?" Steve slapped his forehead and said, "Little Thomas should've been taken to Battleworld too. Good thing he went to Scarlet Witch's place, or I'd have to worry about the safety of the other superheroes."
"Has his mutant ability stabilized?" Matt asked curiously.
"Not quite. Wherever he is, the dark matter data keeps changing. It could probably drive a dozen scientists to death."
"Scientists aren't that fragile," Stark muttered. He dozed there for a while, then got up to make coffee. Steve said, "I already made yours. Just..."
