The place where they had landed really was huge and empty, and even their voices carried heavy echoes. There were no plants down below, only some moss in the corners of the walls. Stark and Schiller did not need to look hard to tell that the underground hot spring really was nearby, because it had not been long since they came down before they felt the damp heat.
There were said to be two cave entrances below, and one was clearly hotter than the other. The three of them headed in that direction. The passage inside this cave entrance was quite spacious too, so they chatted as they walked.
"Most Mutants are hot-tempered," Stark said with a sigh. "The moment they said they wanted to build a hot spring, they got started right away. They couldn't even wait one more day. Charles didn't think to stop them either."
"Maybe Charles was happy to see it happen," Schiller said. "If he hadn't agreed and supported it, the Mutants wouldn't have rushed over in such a hurry."
"I think he wants to develop tourism," Steve offered. "More precisely, tourism from the Central Universe to here. This place is practically a blessed nursery. It's time to bring those little devils over."
That was true. Stark thought so too. But if they wanted to bring them over, there had to be something attractive here. A primeval forest alone was not enough, which was why he was so eager to build these things. He was just worried the Mutants had no experience in this area, and that being too eager to finish it would backfire instead.
