But No. 2, Scarlet Spider, was still at large, which meant No. 3, Arkham Batman, could not be sacrificed either. He could only be left hanging here while Schiller went to catch No. 2 first.
Arkham Batman also observed that the cellar had more than one door, and the two doors were some distance apart. In other words, Schiller could not block the entrance to stop others from rescuing him. Schiller did not seem to intend to, either. After hanging Arkham Batman up, he left through the door on the right.
Before long, Arkham Batman heard noises from the door on the left. He knew it had to be a teammate coming to rescue him. He had thought it would be Black Widow or Scarlet Spider, but to his surprise, the person who came was Rorschach.
"I was just about to tell you—the mage called Constantine was sacrificed," Rorschach said through gritted teeth. "That damned bastard completed a devil's ritual underground. He is an enemy of Christ. I will kill him!"
Arkham Batman froze, then asked, "You completed a sealing ritual?"
"Yes. The first sealing ritual was completed by that Constantine, and I did the second one." Rorschach did not know that Arkham Batman had completed one as well. He said, "There should be three left now. I'll get you out, and we'll split up to look for them..."
Arkham Batman found it a little strange. Why had he suddenly become normal? As Rorschach was letting him down, he suddenly remembered that Rorschach had just said this devil was an enemy of Christ. Thinking about it that way, it was not impossible to understand. People with that kind of political stance were usually very conservative fanatics, the sort who kept phrases like "Christ is invincible" on their lips all day.
