The first floor of the Mind Palace, or rather, the ground floor, had no rooms—only doors, windows, the floor, and stairs leading upward. Because of this, Schiller could observe the situation outside the Mind Palace through the first-floor windows.
Since it was a circular high tower, the windows offered an exceptionally broad view. At that moment, the Mind Palace had landed directly in the middle of the roundabout at the very center of Gotham City, giving them an unobstructed view of the entire downtown area.
After being swallowed by the kittens transformed from Dream of a Thousand Cats, Schiller had guessed what might happen next. What he had not expected was for Dream of a Thousand Cats to drag his entire Mind Palace directly into the cats' dream.
After taking a look outside, Schiller returned to the center of the ground floor. He looked at Dream God Morpheus, who explained before Schiller could even ask, "I told you before that Dream of a Thousand Cats is the collective dream of cats. It must have been frightened, so it pulled all of you into its dream."
"As I said before, cats once ruled the world. Cats were masters, and humans were servants. But then a thousand people had the same dream and replaced reality with it, so humanity became the master of Earth."
"However, the cats' dream did not disappear. It still exists within the Dreamscape, and the cat-ruled world within that dream still exists as well. Just as you can see, the residents of a cats' dream are naturally all cats."
"First question..." Schiller asked, "Why is there a Gotham in the cats' dream?"
"Well..." Morpheus shook his head and said, "Even though it may sound like I'm deliberately refusing to tell you, the truth is that I don't know
