Just as the atmosphere in the room became somewhat awkward, the door suddenly opened. A flashlight beam shone inside, making Angela raise an arm to shield her eyes.
The female agent, Kayla, walked in. Seeing Angela and Constantine, she froze for a moment before asking, "It looks like this building just lost power. Are you two all right?"
"We're fine." Angela's tone was slightly unnatural, but Kayla entered and said, "Is the lead you're investigating in this room too? I searched the entire fourth floor. This is the only room left unchecked."
"Then you investigate it first. We'll check the other rooms." With that, Constantine pulled Angela away. Once they reached the corridor, Angela shook off his hand and said, "What are you doing? I won't let that agent rummage around in my sister's room!"
Constantine stopped and looked into her eyes. "Did you forget? She said she was here to investigate a missing agent."
Angela took a deep breath and calmed herself. After thinking for a moment, she said, "If someone was conducting illegal experiments here and plotting some enormous conspiracy, then aside from the Soviet spies embedded in this organization, the missing agent that woman is searching for most likely infiltrated this organization too, only to be murdered by them."
"What we know for certain is that my sister's death was connected to the people conducting illegal experiments here. They're also the targets of my revenge. Even for the people of Metropolis, I can't let their conspiracy succeed," Angela said firmly.
"So you want to work with that agent?" Constantine asked.
"That's right." Angela stepped in front of Constantine and looked into his eyes. "Right now, our top priority is stopping this organization's conspiracy. We have a common enemy."
"You don't want to deal with those demons anymore?"
