In the end, the ones who actually taught Peter how to drive were Matt and his girlfriend, Elektra.

Matt's severe injury last time had helped him and Elektra clear up their misunderstanding and get back together.

Of course, after breaking free of The Hand's brainwashing, Elektra also realized that she had been too impulsive back then.
