Inside the Presidential Suite of the Beverly Hill Hotel in Los Angeles, Hal and Oliver were playing cards. Looking out the window, they could see Arthur swimming in the outdoor pool below. Many beautiful women were fixated on his strong, sculpted physique, letting out bursts of delighted cries with every movement he made.
"He wasn't much of a sailor, but he sure knew how to show off his muscles." Oliver sighed. "I was the same when I was young. I spent two months living in the gym just so I could show off at pool parties."
"You should be grateful for all that training. It gave you a decent physique when you were trying to survive on that deserted island. Otherwise, you definitely wouldn't have lasted until now." Hal tossed out a card.
Oliver nodded, then said, "I just called Star City. My butler was shocked to hear I was alive, and thrilled too. He wants me to go back as soon as possible..."
"Then why are you still here?" Hal raised his hand to look at his watch. "Star City isn't far from here. If you left now, you could make it there before dawn."
Oliver shook his head. "During my time on that deserted island, I kept thinking about one question. Where does human suffering truly come from?"
"Why are you suddenly thinking about something like that? Are you a philosopher too?" Hal took a sip of icy sparkling water, sharply inhaled from the chill, and said, "I thought only professors like Schiller studied useless philosophical questions like that."
"How can you call it useless? Haven't you ever thought about it?"
