At that moment, Ward narrowed his eyes from within the bushes outside the warehouse. He had heard the two gunshots, but no screams or any other sounds of people dodging bullets followed. That was not normal.
He intended to observe the situation a little longer, but within minutes, fiercer gunfire erupted from the warehouse. Screams came one after another, and Ward could no longer wait. He could tell that some of the people screaming were old acquaintances.
Although Ward now possessed special abilities, he did not immediately use strength beyond that of an ordinary person. Instead, he sprinted toward the warehouse like anyone else, reached a window, crouched down, and peered inside.
