Schiller shook his head and said, "Remember, if you see me anywhere outside school, don't talk to me... Oh, right, what's going on with The Rolling Heads Gang? Can you make it to class on time tomorrow?"
Jason shook his head and said, "Nothing major. I heard one of the big shots from the Twelve Families is looking for someone. You know, they rely entirely on Gotham's kids to find people. The Rolling Heads Gang wants to take the job too. We could get quite a few benefits, and it would help us get to know more people from the big gangs. Life will be easier afterward..."
Schiller nodded and said, "All right. Though I think you should take a more cautious view of your career choices. Still, if you feel responsible for doing this, then go."
Jason rarely smiled. He said, "Thank you, Professor. No one has ever said anything like that to me. They just think I was born liking to switch gangs..."
Schiller stood up and walked Jason to the door. He said, "There are many people in this world who have no choice but to do things they don't like. They will never come to love the jobs they have now, but since things are already this way, you might as well think about what you can learn from a career you don't love."
"Learn what?" Jason scratched his head. "What is there to learn from being in a gang?"
Schiller patted Jason on the shoulder and said, "Everything has something worth learning from it. Right now, you have the right environment to slowly figure out how it works. Some people have to pay tuition just for the chance to learn."
Jason nodded as if he understood, then left the school.
