"You're short on money?!"
A startled shout rang out from an office at Gotham University, so thick with bewilderment that it could have been heard from miles away.
Schiller stared wide-eyed at Bruce, who was sitting across from him, and said, "Say that again. You're short on what?!"
Bruce spread the hand resting on the desk and said, "I'm short on money right now."
Schiller took a deep breath and said, "Bruce, do you think that just because you've handed in all your reports and papers, I can't do anything to you anymore? Instead of coming here to mess with me, why don't you go back and explain to your butler why you didn't get Outstanding Graduate..."
"I'm serious." Bruce looked extremely earnest. He said, "Wayne Enterprises is facing a cash flow crisis. I urgently need to make money."
"Then just invent something... Oh, wait, your inventions probably wouldn't sell very well either. Then go withdraw some from a bank... Never mind, you're too stubborn for that. Just print some... Counterfeiting wouldn't be hard, but it would cause inflation... Fine, how do you plan to make money?" Schiller asked Bruce.
No matter what, Batman was a good person. Though he was sometimes overly obsessive and looked like a lunatic, his moral bottom line was certainly higher than most people's. It would be difficult to get him to deceive or ambush someone.
Especially since robbing a bank or printing money would directly affect ordinary people's lives, it was perfectly normal for Bruce to refuse. But if none of that was involved, making a large amount of money through legitimate means in a short period of time would be rather troublesome.
Then Bruce said a name: "Vandal Savage."
Schiller raised an eyebrow and said, "You've got your eye on his assets? Well,
