The Magellanic Cloud, also known as the Large Magellanic Cloud, was a dwarf galaxy. Among the Milky Way Galaxy's many satellite galaxies, it was one of the most famous and also the most massive, with roughly one-twentieth the mass of the Milky Way Galaxy.
The Magellanic Cloud was the fourth-largest galaxy in the Local Group, surpassed only by the Triangulum Galaxy, the Milky Way Galaxy, and the Andromeda galaxy. It was also home to the Kree Empire's home planet, one of the Three Great Empires of the Universe.
Nearly the entire Magellanic Cloud had been transformed into a military base by the Kree Empire, and the Kree Empire's home planet, where the Supreme Intelligence resided, was surrounded by layer upon layer of defenses.
The Magellanic Cloud was usually observed as an irregular galaxy, though it also showed signs of a barred structure. Through human telescopes, it appeared as a beautiful spindle-shaped arc of light, and at the center of the brightest nebula at the end of its spiral arm lay the Kree Empire's home planet.
At the same time, the Kree Empire had more than two thousand starports in the Magellanic Cloud, half of which were military starports used to dock Kree Empire warships.
However, due to the Kree Empire's relentless colonial expansion over the past thousand years, half of those two thousand starports had fallen dormant. Only around two or three hundred military ports remained broadly active.
