Schiller stood beside the hospital bed, smiling at Ronan, but Ronan was completely unmoved. He turned his head and looked at several humans outside the observation room.
One of them looked very young, dressed in a hoodie printed with cartoon patterns, peering curiously through the observation window.
Another wore a uniform and carried a red-and-blue shield, arguing with someone in powered armor. Several others in researchers' uniforms were holding documents and comparing data with one another.
Everything outside the ward looked perfectly normal. Everyone had their own work to do, and their exchanges were smooth and natural. Looking only at this scene, one might truly believe they had been rescued by strangers and brought to a hospital.
But Ronan sat up in the bed. He gave a cold smile, then said icily:
"Skrulls, you are always so smugly clever, yet you fail to realize that enormous flaws have already revealed themselves through your words, actions, and stagecraft. This trap is so childish that I find it laughable."
"You call yourselves humans, yet the moment you saw me, you accurately identified my species and could even distinguish my military rank."
"There are many civilizations in the universe that have heard of the Kree Empire's might, but most have merely glimpsed it through a narrow tube. Only one race knows us intimately, because we once fought a war that lasted a thousand years. Isn't that right, lackeys of the Skrull Empire?"
