In the Magellanic Cloud, on the Kree Empire's home planet, mechanized blue cities towered into the clouds. The lower atmosphere and stronger gravity made everything here seem larger and more resolute.
At the very center of the blue city stood a High Tower that pierced the clouds. Above it, a spherical energy core continuously discharged lightning, tearing through the thick cloud cover and allowing starlight to spill into the city.
Below the core was a smaller sphere. The Kree called it the "Palace of Wisdom," though it also had a more official name: the Supreme Intelligence.
When the Supreme Intelligence was first created, the Kree had hoped he could create a Cosmic Cube to counter the Skrull World Forger's plan to manufacture one. But later, the Supreme Intelligence developed thoughts of his own. He believed the Cube was too dangerous and refused to make one for the Kree.
Because so much had been invested in creating the Supreme Intelligence, the Kree of that era did not choose to destroy this intelligent life-form that had developed its own mind. Instead, they allowed him to remain. After many years of evolution, the Supreme Intelligence served the Kree Empire with his wisdom and gained a host of followers.
Later, the Supreme Intelligence's influence grew by the day, until he replaced the Kree government and became the Kree Empire's supreme ruler.
Over the past thousand years, the Kree Empire had developed at breakneck speed, leaping from the youngest interstellar civilization to one of the Three Great Empires. This was inseparable from the Supreme Intelligence.
The Supreme Intelligence usually manifested as a gigantic green face surrounded by many tentacles. Sometimes, he appeared in the form of an orange dragon or a green octopus.
