According to the official lore, the Krudo Horned Devils were a race descended from creatures created by the Thousand-Faced Death God, one of the supreme gods of the New Continent, equal in standing to the Nine Pillar Gods.
They worshipped the Death God. Whenever they were about to kill a high-level life-form, they would sacrifice it at the altar. The altar burned with Soul Fire, which would quickly kill the creature and transmit its energy to the Death God.
Lu Yang approached the altar while invisible. It was an immensely magnificent structure. Behind the sacrificial pit burning with dark green flames stood a fifty-meter-tall Death God Statue draped in a cloak. Looking up from below, one could almost feel the Death God's majestic, disdainful gaze.
