The Son of the Progenitor Dragon was not the Progenitor Dragon's biological son. He had been a dragon egg left behind by the previous Dragon God, the Dark Divine Dragon, before the world's great destruction.
After the New World formed, the Dragon King of this generation emerged from the hidden realm and found the dragon egg beneath the remains of the previous Dark Divine Dragon. After it hatched, the Progenitor Dragon raised Dark Giant Dragon Galadmon as his own child.
Dark Giant Dragon Galadmon was born with his parents' memories. He needed no guidance from the Progenitor Dragon and could grow rapidly through those memories alone. In an extremely short time, he became a being below only the Progenitor Dragon and above all other dragons.
The Progenitor Dragon therefore ordered Dark Giant Dragon Galadmon to command the entire Black Dragon Clan. When the Progenitor Dragon marched on the New Continent, Galadmon led the Black Dragon Clan's main force with him.
