Yet the demon who had attacked him not only did not order the other demons to attack, but even wanted to negotiate with him.

The demons clearly had the advantage, yet they chose to negotiate. Either there were too few demons and they did not dare continue attacking, or the other side was setting a trap to wipe them all out.

What General Ba Shi feared most was Ku Ai Bansheng refusing to talk. Now that they could negotiate, a cunning look appeared in Bashi's eyes. In clumsy Chinese, he said to Ku Ai Bansheng, "Human, I am General Ba Shi of the Demon Race. I have no intention of being your enemy. We are a race that fled to this world and only wish for a peaceful place to live. As long as you do not attack us, we will never become your enemies. I hope for peace."
Ku Ai Bansheng had his communicator on. He frowned and said, "But you cut me just now. If my reaction hadn't been fast enough, I'd already be dead. You don't look like someone who wants peace."
Bashi revealed an embarrassed expression and gave an elegant bow. "I sincerely apologize for my actions just now. I merely overreacted somewhat."
