After watching Deep Sea and the others leave, Lu Yang turned to Chavez beside him and said, "It's your turn now."
"Don't make me go back. That bastard Aparisti will torture me to death. Please, I'm begging you." Chavez knelt before Lu Yang, tears streaming down his face.
Lu Yang smiled at Chavez and said, "Don't worry, I won't send you to your death. You still have great value to humanity. Swear loyalty to me. As long as you remain loyal, I'll give you a safe life."
Chavez immediately swore an oath in Elvish, reciting the slave oath and willingly becoming Lu Yang's lowliest slave servant. An ancient Elven character meaning "slave" then appeared prominently on his forehead.
"Master, I am willing to serve you for the rest of my life," Chavez said ingratiatingly.
Turbid Wine, Bai Shi, and the others all showed looks of disdain. They could not understand why Lu Yang would accept such a warrior without honor as his slave.
Lu Yang walked over to Chavez with a smile and gently stroked his forehead. "You will become humanity's water magic instructor. After this war, you will remain in the rear forever. I will no longer require you to go to the battlefield. All you need to do is be a good instructor."
"Thank you, Master." Chavez knelt on the ground and wept. He could finally live.
