A group of skull-headed demons that looked similar to Tourang stood guard at the city gate. When they saw Diliya entering with Lu Yang, they hurriedly surrounded them.
"Your Highness, who is he? How did he come here?" the captain of the guard asked warily.
Diliya signaled for her clansmen to lower their weapons and said, "By the patriarch's order, Lu Yang will henceforth be the one we clansmen living in Blood Purgatory swear loyalty to. That includes me. We must all regard Lu Yang as our master."
"What?"
"He's only a lower god. What gives him the right to be our master?"
"Has the patriarch abandoned us?"
All the clansmen were dumbfounded.
A flaming spear suddenly appeared in Diliya's hand. She stared at them and said, "Did you not hear what I said?"
A terrifying pressure radiated from Diliya's body. It was the pressure of racial bloodlines. As the daughter of Tourang City's lord, she was born with bloodline suppression over ordinary clansmen.
The dozen or so guards hurriedly knelt respectfully on the ground, trembling in fear. The captain said respectfully, "Your Highness, we obey the patriarch's command, but... but... but..."
Diliya said sternly, "There are no buts. The patriarch's order is our mission. Go gather all the clansmen. I want every warrior to know about this."
The captain glanced awkwardly at Diliya and said, "Your Highness, the brothers have just suffered another backlash from the demon whispers in Blood Purgatory. Right now... right now, those who can come..."
Diliya helplessly covered her forehead, then looked apologetically at Lu Yang. "I'm afraid we can't gather the brothers. You saw what happened to me earlier. They're in even worse shape than I am. Can you... find a way to save us?"
"Take me to see them," Lu Yang said.
