Exploration, Part Two

The screen soon dimmed, then began replaying the previous footage.

Clearly, this was a recording made not long ago.

Wei He understood at once.

He watched it several more times. Before long, he spotted a few clues in the footage.

The two people pursuing Eldest Senior Sister seemed to belong to the same system. Their flight paths, the shockwave ripples they produced, and various other details were all remarkably consistent.

But those alone were not enough to confirm it completely.

Wei He paused, then did not linger in the room. Instead, he turned and came before another round door.

On the wall to the right of the door was a spider-like protrusion of flesh and blood.

Blood-red tentacles danced around the protrusion, swaying in the wind.

Clearly, this protrusion was alive as well.

Wei He considered it, then lightly patted the spider-like bulge.

No response.

He grabbed the protrusion and twisted it.

This time, there was a response.

Whooo.

The dark-red round door ahead slowly lifted upward, revealing a spacious hall on the other side, completely covered in flesh and blood.

Several golden beams of light slanted down from above, serving as the only source of illumination.

Groove-like corridors were embedded all around the walls.

The place Wei He emerged from was halfway along one such corridor.

Like all the walls he had seen before, this hall too was entirely covered in thick flesh tissue.

The floor, walls, and ceiling were covered everywhere with writhing, living flesh.

Metal and flesh interwove and fused together. The metal was like a skeleton, while the flesh was like tissues and organs.

The entire place resembled the inner cavity of some gigantic creature's organ.

Fine fragments resembling spores drifted slowly through the air, settling onto Wei He's shoulders, arms, and head.
