Reunion, Part One

Inside the Saluto family villa.

The bald, burly Ludi Saluto looked helplessly at the young, beautiful white-haired woman seated before him.

Judging by her face and skin alone, she looked like a young lady who had just turned twenty-five, deceptively so.

But in truth, no one could have guessed from her appearance alone that she had already borne two children, one of whom was over fifty.

"Mom, why did you come here in person?" Bald Ludi asked softly.

Though he was huge, tall, and covered in tattoos, before his mother, he did not dare resist in the slightest.

That was not only because of the shadow cast by all the beatings he had taken growing up, but also because of the enormous gap in psionic power between them.

When his mother had married into the Saluto family long ago, she had already reached the Illumination psionic energy level. Now that nearly sixty years had passed, no one knew how powerful her psionic energy had become.

Ever since his father had died in battle, aside from a handful of elders in the family, the person Ludi feared most was the mother before him.

"If I hadn't come, your sister would have nearly thrown the Saluto name into the mud!" the white-haired woman said coldly.

She wore a pure white ceremonial cape with blue trim, both hands hidden within her broad sleeves, seemingly concealing the movements of her fingers.

"It's not that exaggerated, is it? Besides, the man my sister likes recently has already broken through to Storm Class psionic energy. He's not bad." Ludi tried to persuade her.

"He has already reached his limit. What does that change?" the woman said blandly.

Hard work could indeed change many things, but not everything.

"..." Ludi sighed inwardly. If anyone else had come
