Reassignment (Part 2)

"This is Wei He. He'll be the person in charge of our research center from now on. Any discoveries, problems, or matters requiring analysis will be handled by a team led by him," Katri introduced.

Then he turned and introduced Wei He as well.

"His name is Ansaya. He's the commander of the security forces on Planet 184. Any missions involving sample collection, research, or exploration will be led by him from now on."

"Hello."

Wei He took the initiative to extend his hand with a smile.

Ansaya's expression did not change. He nodded and extended his hand, and the two shook lightly.

"Actually, Wei He is quite capable in actual combat as well. You two can exchange pointers in the future.

"Little Wei came up through the ranks. He isn't purely a desk-bound official," Katri said with a smile.

Ansaya nodded. He looked as though he had taken it in, but no one knew what he truly thought.

Katri offered the two of them a few more words of encouragement, then headed toward the bow at the captain's call.

Wei He and Ansaya were left standing face-to-face.

"Director Wei, I hope we'll have a pleasant cooperation in the future. When it comes to security matters, you may trust us without reservation," Ansaya said in a deep voice.

"Thank you, Commander Ansaya," Wei He replied.

"Very good. I hope Director Wei can always maintain such a fine attitude. Also, Director Wei, were you once a combat-oriented type as well?" Ansaya seemed to have something in mind.

"Yes. Before I broke through to Illumination level, I also participated in the surface war against pollution beasts. But the largest scale of those battles was still confined to a single planet, so it cannot compare to—" Wei He said modestly.

"Want to spar?"
