"Why are you all looking at me?" Wei He said calmly. "The principle I follow is not killing."
He did not hide what he meant.
"In my eyes, the human lives on these planets have their own uses and value as well. I will not simply eat them on a whim for the sake of satisfying my appetite."
"But I made this myself," Delma said evenly.
"Then that's fine." Wei He picked up the unusual piece of flesh lying motionless among the soybeans and popped it into his mouth.
The corners of his mouth instantly split all the way to his ears, his jaws automatically opening as wide as necessary.
With a squelch.
The entire chunk of meat in the bowl was swallowed into his stomach.
He barely needed to chew. He simply gulped it down whole, swallowing it straight through his throat.
"Not bad." Relief replaced Delma's alarm. He patted Wei He on the shoulder. "I invited you here this time for two reasons. First, to meet the newcomer. Second, to discuss adjustments to the details of the game."
"You've met the newcomer. What do you think?" Barron asked with a smile from the side.
Delma smiled but did not answer. Instead, he looked at Wei He.
"How does the eighth level feel? Judging by your state, you must have a cave abode bestowed from above there as well, right? Otherwise, you wouldn't be this clear-headed."
Wei He's heart stirred, though he only smiled outwardly.
From Delma's question, it seemed that after a monarch ascended dimensions, he needed a special cave abode on the eighth level. Otherwise, that strange influence would affect him.
"I do have a place, but it is far inferior to those of you three seniors."
"As long as it can shield your body, that's enough.
