Mo Fan had chosen an excellent angle, blasting all the rubble away from its original position.
As the rubble shattered, it revealed something like a sewer manhole cover. But Mo Fan knew it was the entrance to the basement—and one without any magical restrictions.
That was perfect. Mo Fan had been worried about magical restrictions. Once the disaster was over, the Magic Association would immediately be able to tell that this had been a man-made theft rather than damage caused by demon beasts.
Mo Fan looked around. Once he confirmed there was no one else nearby, he lifted the round cover with one hand and slipped inside.
It was pitch-black below. Mo Fan descended the steps, raising a small flame in his hand. The fire brought light!
What appeared before him was a renovated passageway. After reaching the bottom, Mo Fan realized that beneath it was a hall of dark stone.
The valuable items of the Magic Association and Hunter's Union were stored here. Following the guidance anxiously, Mo Fan arrived at the soul essence section. Since the outside world's magical energy had been severed, the containment restrictions inside had all collapsed.
Fortunately, Mo Fan had arrived in time. The soul essences had not yet dissipated!
Three large General Spirit Essences and sixteen small Servant Spirit Essences. For Bocheng, that was quite an impressive stockpile.
Including the soul essences in Little Loach's space, Mo Fan now had seventeen Servant Spirit Essences in total.
Celestial Spirit Codex—General Tier
Mo Fan shifted his gaze to the Red Moon Thunder Demon's soul phantom and guided a General Spirit Essence into its chest, instantly lighting the central Dark Star.
Red Moon Thunder Source
Within the Lightning Nebula in his Spiritual Universe, a blood moon suddenly emerged. Its sinister red light pierced through the hazy starlight and swept across the entire nebula.
This was the thunder power controlled by the Red Moon Thunder Demon. Its might far surpassed that of an ordinary Spirit Seed, though it lacked any additional effects!
Mo Fan then looked at the other soul phantoms. He was no longer lacking in main combat skills; what he lacked were passive skills.
Mo Fan set his sights on the elf race. Among the numerous varieties of elves was a peculiar kind known as the Star Realm Envoy.
The Star Realm Envoy had no combat ability, but it possessed formidable support capabilities. After forming a contract with another creature, it could greatly enhance that creature's abilities.
There were five Dark Stars within the Star Realm Envoy's soul phantom. Mo Fan guided a General Spirit Essence into the phantom, silently lighting up one of the Dark Stars.
Magic Spring
The first Dark Star of the Star Realm Envoy possessed an ability called Magic Spring. It opened a spring of magical energy within Mo Fan's Spiritual Universe. The Magic Spring served as an additional storage space for magical energy, and two beams of light extended from its center, linking the Lightning Nebula and Fire Nebula.
Mo Fan left the remaining General Spirit Essence untouched, saving it for unexpected situations.
He then dragged fourteen Servant Spirit Essences into the stars of his two Magic Elements, strengthening Lightning Seal and Fire Seed to Level Four.
A man could not get rich without a windfall, just as a horse could not grow fat without night grazing.
Thinking back to his previous life, he had only upgraded Fire Seed to Level Four after returning from Dongting Lake. How could it compare to now, when both Lightning Seal and Fire Seed had so effortlessly reached Level Four?
After putting away the Lingering Soul Remnants, Mo Fan went to search for other treasures.
In such a vast underground hall, there had to be more than just soul essences. There had to be other treasures, such as exotic bones, Exotic Blood, magical equipment, and magical artifacts.
Mo Fan searched for a long time and did find Exotic Blood and exotic bones. As for magical equipment and magical artifacts, he did not see even a trace of them.
Mo Fan packed away the Exotic Blood and exotic bones. He would soon awaken the Summoning Element, and he would be able to use these things.
After circling around a few times and confirming there was nothing else, Mo Fan headed back to the surface.
He pushed open the entrance that resembled a manhole cover, only for a patch of black to suddenly appear before him. Reeking of filth, an arm like a sickle slashed toward Mo Fan's neck and arteries!
Black Flood Pavilion!!
A flash of shock passed through Mo Fan's eyes.
Li Jing stood behind the Black Beast Demon, her gaze vicious and her smile venomous. She had been hiding on the second floor, watching Mo Fan's every move.
When Mo Fan found the entrance to the underground hall, her face had filled with greed. Yet she did not know what was below, so she had the Black Beast Demon lie in ambush nearby, waiting to strike Mo Fan head-on when he emerged!
The Black Beast Demon swung its arm ferociously. It could already imagine its claw-blade slicing through blood vessels, and how wonderful the sound of gushing blood would be.
But why had the scorching blood not sprayed out after so long??
The Black Beast Demon's eerie green eyes went blank. Mo Fan stood before it completely unharmed, crimson, bewitching lightning crackling in his palm.
"Crimson Moon Lightning Seal Fury Strike!!"
Mo Fan raised his hand as though answering a decree from heaven. Scarlet lightning gleamed, casting an exceptionally sinister light across his face.
The crimson lightning erupted from Mo Fan's hand and struck the Black Beast Demon.
"Gurgle, gurgle, gurgle~~~ Gurgle!"
The moment it touched the lightning, the Black Beast Demon began trembling violently, shrieking in panic as its body convulsed desperately.
"So even filthy things like you know fear."
Mo Fan activated Bloodthirsty Soul Extraction. The Blood-robed Fierce Ghost's soul phantom appeared beside him, its slender, pallid Ghost Hand somewhat disdainfully plunging into the Black Beast Demon's abdomen.
The Black Beast Demon visibly fell into terror. The veins throughout its body bulged as if it were enduring unbearable agony.
When Li Jing saw the Black Beast Demon writhing in pain, fear appeared on her face. She staggered back several steps and stared at Mo Fan. "Y-you... who are you?"
Mo Fan raised his head with a cold sneer, murderous intent filling his eyes. "The man who will kill you. Don't rush. It will be your turn soon enough."
The Blood-robed Fierce Ghost slowly pulled its arm outward. With every motion, the Black Beast Demon's convulsions grew more violent, yet its body shrank further and further.
When the Blood-robed Fierce Ghost extracted the Black Beast Demon's soul essence, its corpse became a shriveled mummy, nothing but skin stretched over bones!
"Ah—" Li Jing screamed.
Why did this youth seem even more like Black Flood Pavilion than she was? She had never heard of such methods, but they definitely were not proper magic.
After dealing with the Black Beast Demon, Mo Fan immediately walked toward Li Jing. With an innocent expression, he seized her by the throat and said, "Black Flood Pavilion? Now that you've fallen into my hands, do you think you'll survive?"
Li Jing had not expected Mo Fan to be so strong. The instant her throat was grabbed, she felt unable to breathe.
Her legs kicked wildly as she tried to break free from Mo Fan's hand, but it was useless!
Bloodthirsty Soul Extraction
Mo Fan activated this demonic art again. The Blood-robed Fierce Ghost eagerly drifted toward Li Jing. Just as it had done to the Black Beast Demon, it made her taste the agony of being carved into a thousand pieces before extracting her soul essence.
This conflict brought Mo Fan's Servant Spirit Essences back up to five.
After killing Li Jing, Mo Fan hurried up to the second floor. The second floor was the Awakening Room, which meant the Awakening Stones were kept there.
Mo Fan entered an Awakening Room, checked whether the Awakening Stone's energy was full, and made sure there was no one else nearby before placing his hand on it.
The familiar feeling, the familiar process.
Mo Fan soon opened his eyes. A tiny cluster of Dark Star Dust had appeared in his palm. Wasn't that the Shadow Element?
Then the Shadow Element vanished, and another transparent cluster of Star Dust floated up. It was the Summoning Element.
