Yunxi smiled faintly after hearing Su Qingzhuo's answer.
"Which senior is your master?"
Su Qingzhuo lowered his eyes.
"My master is True Lord Fengfen of the Tianyun Sect."
"The Tianyun Sect!?"
Yunxi rubbed her fingers together as she began searching her memories for information about the Tianyun Sect. At last, she dug up something from some forgotten corner. She had to thank the five years she had spent in the Honeycomb for that—after browsing through an enormous number of jade slips, she had gained a general understanding of the various sects and powers throughout the Weiyu Realm.
Ten thousand years ago, the Tianyun Sect had been a major power capable of ranking among the first-rate sects. They could trace the past, divine the future, foretell calamity and fortune, and alter people's fates. But because they interfered with others' destinies, they gradually drew the ire of the Heavenly Dao.
Thus, over a long period afterward, Tianyun Sect disciples suffered all manner of accidents in succession and collectively endured backlash, as though they had been cursed. The number of disciples plummeted, and with certain unfavorable rumors spreading, the Tianyun Sect went completely downhill. By now, it had fallen so far that only a single lineage remained.
Put simply, only two people remained in the Tianyun Sect now: one master and one disciple. True Lord Fengfen was the Tianyun Sect's sole remaining inheritor, nicknamed the "Mad Old Man." He had always been elusive, and there was no record in the Honeycomb of him taking on a disciple.
These thoughts flashed through Yunxi's mind in an instant before she continued with a smile.
"Your master cast a divination for you?"
Su Qingzhuo nodded somewhat dejectedly.
"Yes. He said the Su family would be drawn into a massive vortex that would implicate the entire clan.
