"My goodness!"
Coulson could not help making the sign of the cross over his chest and began praying to the "One True God" he believed in.
At this moment, the area beyond the City Wall was densely packed with Curse Monsters stretching as far as the eye could see, more than a hundred times the number they had encountered after first passing through the barrier.
Some of those monsters were as enormous as the Titan Giants and Behemoth Beasts from myth and legend.
"Th-this is the Curse Monster siege of human settlements Allen mentioned? It's terrifying! The fact that humanity in this world has lasted until now without being wiped out is nothing short of an enormous miracle!"
Leo Fitz's legs went weak. He had to clutch the City Wall tightly with both hands to keep from collapsing.
"What do we do now? Stay here and defend the City Wall alongside the locals, or find somewhere to hide?" Grant Ward asked without turning his head.
He could feel his palms sweating nonstop and his heart pounding wildly.
"I remember Allen saying that once these Curse Monsters breach a human settlement, they kill every living thing, then forcibly transform all the dead into one of their own. So if the City Wall falls, we cannot expect to escape disaster either. Rather than be slaughtered after the city falls, I would rather die here like a brave soldier."
After a brief moment of thought, Coulson immediately made his decision in front of everyone.
After all, firing downward from the City Wall was far better than engaging agile monsters in street fighting inside the city.
Especially their modified grenades—they could only be used to their fullest potential when the Curse Monsters were gathered together.
"Okay! You're the boss. We'll listen to you."
