While Allen was deep inside Molten Core hunting minor monsters and training his Nen abilities, Hisoka, who had lain unconscious by the lake for an entire day and night, finally woke up.

He first sat up and stretched his sore, aching body, then said with a disappointed look, "So I'm not dead. I'm still alive?"

"No, in a sense, you did die once. That guy didn't hold back at all. He beat you until you had barely half a breath left. But I don't know what he did afterward—he actually pulled you back from the brink of death." Illumi, who had been watching nearby, explained.

"Oh? Was that his Nen ability?" The lifeless look in Hisoka's eyes instantly sharpened.

Third, his Nen seems to possess the traits of both the Manipulation and Transmutation types. Your respiratory system was frostbitten because you inhaled an invisible Nen, but that Nen had been concealed with 'In,' so you failed to notice it."

Illumi calmly analyzed his observations from this period.
