A Favor

A few minutes later, the group of four arrived at Allen's private room on the two-hundredth floor.

Before he could say anything, the straightforward Gon took the initiative and asked, "Can you teach us that power called Nen?"

"Oh? You already know about Nen?" Allen was slightly surprised, but quickly asked in return, "Why me? You must know, I'm not a qualified teacher. Even my teaching methods are rather simple and brutal."

"Because you're strong! We watched your match against the Floor Master today!" Gon gave his reason without hesitation.

"Hahahaha! Just because I'm strong? You really haven't changed from before. You're always single-minded, living in your own world." Allen could not help laughing as he remarked.

To be honest, Gon, the protagonist, was absolutely an oddity among the protagonists of Japanese anime.

From the very beginning, it had been made clear that he had an incredibly powerful father. Yet unlike protagonists from One Piece, Naruto, Death, and the like, who seemed ordinary at first but actually all came from extraordinary backgrounds with cheats, he had almost never truly enjoyed any special care from his father.

Forget special care—Ging had even told Razor on Greed Island to beat his son half to death if he encountered him in the future. In the end, when his son lay in a hospital bed wishing he were dead, Ging had not even gone to see him once, much less treat him.

A father like that really made one wonder whether they were actually related by blood.

More importantly, Gon had a typically self-centered and obsessive personality. Once he set a goal, he would never give it up because of outside influences.

"It's simple. I want you to owe me a favor, then repay it when I think I need it. Don't worry, I won't make unreasonable demands beyond your capabilities, nor will I ask you to do things like kill people. What do you say? If you agree, I can help you obtain Nen abilities right away."

As he said this, Allen looked directly into those deep blue eyes without any attempt to avoid them.

"Fine!"

After thinking for a long while, Killua felt there was no problem and quickly nodded in agreement.
