Background / History

Dai Mubai was a prince of the Star Luo Empire, but most factions in the empire supported his elder brother, Dai Weisi. Facing the prospect of being crippled or eliminated in the imperial succession struggle, Dai Mubai fled to Shrek Academy. 24 30

At Shrek, he became one of the academy's senior students and helped introduce newcomers to its routines, including the Great Soul Arena's ranking system. He regarded improving his strength as essential to surviving the succession struggle against Dai Weisi. 10 24

After later events scattered Shrek's former members, Dai Mubai joined Blue Tyrant Academy. His cultivation stagnated while he drank and pursued pleasure, though he still became the academy's tournament-team captain due to being its strongest student. 64

Personality

Dai Mubai was proud, quick-tempered, and highly sensitive to humiliation. Zhu Zhuqing's cold rejection angered him, though he restrained himself because their Martial Soul Fusion Skill depended on their compatibility. 11 27

He was also confrontational. Alongside Ma Hongjun, he deliberately insulted Canghui Academy to provoke a conflict, following Shrek's belief that students who did not dare cause trouble were mediocre. 12

Despite this aggression, he could be protective of his teammates. He stepped in when a Berserk Team member harassed Zhu Zhuqing and showed concern over the danger facing Shrek Team in its first team battle. 22

His desperation over Zhu Zhuqing, his lost prospects, and the Star Luo succession struggle eventually overwhelmed his judgment. He accepted Tang San's plan to abduct Zhu Zhuqing in exchange for promised help against Dai Weisi. 64
