Background / History

During the academy assessment and subsequent soul-hunting trips, Tang San repeatedly witnesses Mu Yuan’s overwhelming ability. Mu Yuan restrains Tang San during his fight with Ma Hongjun, saves him from a Man Faced Demon Spider, and agrees to search for Xiao Wu after she is taken by the Titan Giant Ape. 7 14 15
Tang San’s loyalty to Grandmaster causes a lasting conflict with Mu Yuan after Mu Yuan humiliates Grandmaster with Soul Power. Their relationship deteriorates further after Mu Yuan claims the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well and its Immortal Herbs, which Tang San considers irreplaceable treasures. 17 38
After Xiao Wu openly chooses Mu Yuan, Tang San leaves with Tang Hao and trains to surpass him. He later conspires with Dai Mubai to capture Zhu Zhuqing as leverage for Immortal Herbs, but Mu Yuan exposes the scheme; Tang San betrays Dai Mubai to protect himself. 42 49 65
Tang San eventually travels toward Sea God Island seeking a solution to the dangers posed by his Twin Martial Souls. After being captured and auctioned as a slave, he reveals the Clear Sky Hammer, is chosen by the Sea God, and begins divine trials. 74 84 88
Personality
Tang San is protective of those he cares about, particularly Xiao Wu. He confronts Ma Hongjun after believing a woman is being forced, asks Mu Yuan to risk himself to rescue Xiao Wu, and remains determined to take Xiao Wu away after she chooses Mu Yuan. 7 15 40
He is tactical and adaptable in combat, combining Soul Skills, Tang Sect movement techniques, and hidden weapons to create openings against stronger opponents. However, his fixation on surpassing Mu Yuan increasingly drives his decisions, including deception toward Tang Hao, hostility over the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well, and the attempted abduction of Zhu Zhuqing. 27 38 64 65
Tang San is exceptionally persistent. He endures the dangerous absorption of two Ten-Thousand-Year Soul Rings for his Clear Sky Hammer and continues pursuing strength through Sea God Island’s trials. 74 92
