Chapter Summaries

The Imperials used Rorschach’s landing and the White Scars’ departure as bait in an ambush planned to draw out Commander Shadow Sun. Rorschach led an assault on the Tau-held planetary fortress, where he fought through heavy losses and charged a Torrent Battlesuit after breaking the Tau’s suppression fire.

• The White Scars landed on the mining planet, then their fleet changed course to lure the Tau fleet away while the Raven Guard leaked news of Rorschach’s arrival and the Ethereal’s death.
• Rorschach led the Weepers guard and the remaining Black Templars in an assault on the Tau planetary fortress.
• Rorschach dodged a Railgun shot, destroyed a turret and three Crisis Battlesuits, and used Kinetic Impact to disable Tau skimmer tanks and drones.
• Tau skimmer tanks killed several Weepers guard Terminators, but Rorschach rallied the survivors to charge the Tidal Defense Bastion Platform.

• Kaivon Stryke reported that Sevralax had pursued Shadow Sun alone and was killed by a second Tau commander in a Ghost-Cover Battlesuit.

• Rorschach sent Professor Hulk back to the base and led two Raven Guard Champions toward the nuclear power plant.
• The team found an overturned military jeep and a soldier whose body was mutating from the radiation.
• The soldier warned Rorschach that Chernobyl’s underground prison had been destroyed and its mutant prisoners had escaped or turned into mindless monsters.
• The soldier transformed into a flesh monster, and the Raven Guard Champions shot it with their Bolters.

Rorschach investigated the Chernobyl disaster and ordered warnings and reinforcements while he and two Raven Guard Champions advanced toward the power plant. In Moscow, Thor was surrounded by Soviet forces after entering Red Square and tried to explain the crisis.

• Rorschach ordered David to warn the mutant embassy and officials, bring in a Sky Carrier, and send Knights and White Scars if they were ready.
