Xiao Ran restrained Link, learned that she was a spiritual body and the last of her people, and faced Yulisha's ultimatum: destroy Link or let the sleeping Yamato crew remain trapped. He chose to seek another solution and ordered a Rune Engine brought to him so Saki could help imprison Link's soul.

• Xiao Ran used his Mental Power to restrain Link and confronted Lieutenant Misaki, who revealed she was Yulisha of Iskandar inhabiting Yuria Misaki's body.
• Yulisha warned that Link's interference would keep the sleeping Yamato crew from awakening and asked Xiao Ran to choose between them and Link.

Xiao Ran had Puru seal Link’s forcibly separated soul into a sphere that could be placed inside a Rune Engine. He planned to use the engine to contain her, while the unconscious crew would need another method to be awakened.

• Basak’s berserk instincts let him evade Chitose’s space-time attack and tear apart her mech, leaving Chitose unconscious and bleeding.
• Soji Okita shouted for someone to stop Basak before he killed Chitose, as Basak began to rip her damaged mech apart.
• Luo appeared in a golden mech, struck Mazinger Kaiser’s head, and kicked it away before ordering Basak to calm down.
• Basak regained control and told Luo that Chitose’s attack had felt dangerous and used an unfamiliar kind of power.
