Aiseldah Shiun was a Royal Knight, but he had another identity as well: Commander of the Knight Corps that led the Royal Guards.
The two knights' expressions sharpened. They also understood just how important what they had heard in the reception room was to the Frie, and they immediately nodded. "Understood."
Aiseldar nodded but said nothing more. Nor did he leave. Instead, he remained outside the door, waiting for Chief Spy Carolan, whose actions had already amounted to betrayal, to come out. Given the current circumstances, Aiseldar could do nothing to Carolan despite his clear betrayal, but Shiun still wanted to know Carolan's true purpose.
Aiseldar simply did not believe Carolan's claims about seeking peace between Earth and the Frie. If that had truly been his goal, Carolan would not have opposed the Integration Plan Aiseldar had proposed in the first place.
Aiseldar waited outside for a full half hour. Gazing at the scenery before him—blue skies, green land, wind, water, sunlight, a naturally beautiful landscape—he could not help but sigh inwardly. One attendant saw Carolan emerge from the building and hurriedly reminded Aiseldar, "My lord, the Chief Spy has come out."
