More than a dozen vines shot toward Gutsy. Faster even than flying arrows, they had appeared not only suddenly but were also difficult to deal with. Xiao Ran handled them easily enough; no matter how fast the vines were, they entered his perception the instant they moved. He instantly drew his Beam Saber and severed the vines hurtling toward him.
Xiao Ran naturally dealt with those vines with ease, but Kyosuke had no such easy time handling the vines that suddenly pounced on Gutsy.
Apart from the cutting ability of the screamers on its head, Gutsy's only hand-mounted equipment was its pile driver. It was practically incapable of dealing with vines stabbing straight at it. On top of that, the space they occupied was not large enough for Gutsy to evade. It knocked aside only a few vines before the rest wrapped it up.
Ingram's reaction was not slow either. Piloting his new machine, he drew his Beam Saber and raised his hand, slicing away half the vines binding Gutsy in a flash. The remaining half was severed by the GN Fangs that suddenly appeared. The cut vines went limp and released Gutsy, while Xiao Ran's voice rang out in Kyosuke's cockpit. "Kyosuke, leave immediately. These Native Species are targeting you."
Kyosuke froze when he heard Xiao Ran's words, but he immediately fell silent and turned his machine around to flee at high speed, seemingly unable to understand why he had become the Native Species' target.
After saying that, Xiao Ran fixed his gaze on the largest Native Species within the Seal Space. He watched as countless more vines erupted from the giant Native Species, spreading and corroding their way outward along the walls. In only a short time, innumerable vines had covered the entire Seal Space.
