Before this conversation, Xiao Ran could not be said to understand the Native Species. He only knew that such a race existed, and understood their purpose and origins. They were biomechanical lifeforms from the Native Species' space, with their presence spread throughout the universe. They had been watching Earth, seeking to destroy it.
But after communicating with them, Xiao Ran did not truly gain a great deal of understanding of the Native Species. He merely learned more through Alphimi's perspective. For example, their numbers were terrifyingly vast. They lived in a special crimson space. The Native Species were neither evil nor righteous, but a completely neutral race that acted according to certain rules.
They had also monitored the entirety of Earth for a very, very long time. They were like antivirus software on a computer. If the computer operated normally, they would have no effect on it. But once a virus appeared that could cause problems for the computer, they would begin operating at full capacity.
A race with neither good nor evil, merely neutrality, acting according to certain rules, was both easy and difficult to deal with in some ways. The Native Species were simply too numerous—so numerous that even Xiao Ran found them chilling and terrifying. As long as life existed, the Native Species could never truly disappear. Especially that being who seemed like the leader of the Native Species in that space—Xiao Ran could sense its immense power from Alphimi's memories alone.
What made them easier to deal with was that the Native Species acted according to established rules. As long as humanity could satisfy those rules, the Native Species naturally would no longer pose any threat to humanity. Furthermore, the Native Species did not truly have any special purpose regarding humanity, yet they possessed genuine intelligence.
