When Xiao Ran appeared before Federation President Gaspar, there was not the slightest thing amiss about him. With a smile, he brushed aside his lateness and completed the entire second day's itinerary after Xiao Ran and the others arrived in the Federation.
It was not until the return trip, when Xiao Ran and Gaspar shared the same car, that they finally found a chance to talk alone.
Inside the extended luxury car, Xiao Ran raised his wineglass toward Gaspar. After taking a sip of the fine wine, he asked, "How much do you know about Autel?"
Gaspar did not quite understand why Xiao Ran had suddenly brought up Autel. As before, he merely laughed and said, "A very capable young man. He keeps a low profile, but he is highly capable. I investigated him when he was transferred to my side and found nothing suspicious."
"I didn't think you would casually keep someone you did not understand by your side." Xiao Ran nodded lightly, set down his glass, and continued, "Yet that is exactly what you did. Autel is merely a fabricated identity. You probably cannot even imagine his true identity, much less the threat that keeping him by your side would pose to the Federation, to Earth, and to the Earth Defense Force."
Gaspar's expression suddenly froze. He absolutely believed Xiao Ran's words, because Xiao Ran had no reason to deceive him. If Xiao Ran had been dissatisfied with Autel, he would not have needed to go to such lengths. A single word or glance would have naturally brought Autel enormous trouble.
Gaspar hurriedly set down his glass and leaned forward slightly. His face darkened as he looked at Xiao Ran and asked, "Lord Xiao Ran, have you uncovered his true identity? Who exactly is he?"
