Chapter 1411: Mysterious Girl
Boom!
As the two sat in silence, a tremendous boom suddenly erupted from the sky. The sound was all too familiar to them, and they immediately rose from the bench. As a fighter, Souji turned directly toward the direction from which the sound had come.
Chitose Kisaragi had always been support personnel. Perhaps she had become too immersed in peaceful days, because she looked around in confusion. "What was that?"
"It came from over there, Chitose." Soji Okita grabbed Chitose's hand and began running toward the source of the blast. As she was pulled along, Chitose's body trembled slightly. "What was it?"
Without looking back, Soji Okita said, "An explosion. That sound means combat!"
Soji Okita led Chitose out of the park and immediately spotted several red robots at the edge of the city. Watching their movements, he instantly understood their objective. "Are those units targeting that factory beside them?"
Chitose Kisaragi also watched the red robots wreaking havoc. Standing by the roadside, she said in disbelief, "They just started destroying things in the middle of the street? How could they do something like that!?"
"Never mind that." Seeing citizens running and screaming in every direction, Soji Okita firmly pressed Chitose Kisaragi's shoulders. "Chitose, guide the civilians to evacuate. Isn't this exactly what we're good at?"
"Huh?" Chitose Kisaragi looked up in a certain direction. Seeing her dazed expression, Soji Okita shouted, "Stop wasting time. Bullets don't have eyes."
Chitose shook her head and pointed in one direction. "No, no, Souji, it looks like something's coming."
