In the corridors of the Nadeshiko, an eerie atmosphere froze everything like an icy wind. Everyone stared in disbelief at the two people standing in the middle of the corridor, nearly identical in appearance aside from a slight difference in height, their clothing, and their genders.
One wore a blank expression, while the other had an indescribable smile. They simply stared at each other. Though they stood only a few steps apart, their gazes seemed separated by countless mountains and rivers. A strange air spread between them, infecting everyone present and gradually silencing them all.
"It's you! Renard Tyrostta."
Before Tessa could speak, Chidori called out Renard's name. Behind Chidori, one of the three uniformed attendants—a boy who looked no older than his teens—instantly broke out in a cold sweat. He wiped the back of his head with his right hand, pushed off with both feet, and lunged toward Renard.
The other two uniformed attendants, a man and a woman, hurriedly drew their weapons. Each grabbed Tessa and Chidori and pulled them behind themselves. One immediately raised a gun at Renard, while the other lifted her weapon and aimed at the stunned staff nearby, who had yet to process what was happening.
Seeing the boy rush at him with a dagger in one hand and a pistol in the other, ready to fire, Renard merely smiled faintly. He bent slightly, moved his feet, and left an afterimage as he appeared beside the boy. He pulled his right hand from his pocket and pressed it against the back of the boy's neck, then casually lifted his left hand and tapped the boy's hand, making the dagger slip free at once.
