Xiao Ran studied the dragons carefully, inspecting them from top to bottom and trying to find common ground between these two dragons and humans. Yet he could not find any differences that truly set them apart from humans. The only slightly notable thing was the pair of yellow eyes on each of the two small dragons.
Imprisoned here, the deep sorrow in the two dragons' eyes, as well as the hatred they showed upon seeing the people before them, were not things mindless beasts could possibly display.
Many of those present watched Xiao Ran, most of them assuming he was simply curious about the dragons. Though they too observed the two dragons at close range, aside from Xiao Ran, Jill, and Angellisa, everyone else seemed more like tourists visiting a zoo.
There was no particular expression on Jill's face. As always, she wore that faint, almost imperceptible smile, though an unshakable trace of sorrow forever lingered between her brows.
As for Princess Angellisa, her eyes seemed somewhat vacant. From time to time, she looked at Xiao Ran, then Jill, or the dragons.
