The Ideon Sword—a Sword of Light capable of cleaving stars and star systems, a sword of destruction capable of ruining everything—had become a sword of hope at this moment. Yet this sword had not been unleashed by the being known as Giant God Ideon. It had been released by the transformed Burning Legion.
Though both were Ideon Swords, there was no distinction between genuine and imitation. However, the Ideon Sword unleashed by the Burning Legion was nowhere near one-tenth, one-hundredth, or even one-billionth of what Giant God Ideon could unleash. Even so, in the instant it swept through the air, it was enough to reduce the completely collapsed dome above the underground space and countless pieces of rubble to ashes.
The robot wielding that massive sword of light stood tall within the underground space... no, it should have been called a brightly lit expanse that had become an enormous pit. Bathed in the light falling from above, it was like a true giant god, bringing genuine hope to everyone.
Everyone who saw that massive robot stood dumbfounded. Shock was no longer enough to describe what anyone thought upon witnessing the scene. Though they were still beneath the shadow cast by the Mazinger, at that moment, an inexplicable dawn lit up in every heart.
"Th-this... this is the Burning Legion!?" The first voice to ring out belonged to Shinn Asuka, who always said whatever came to mind. As Shinn's figure descended, wave after wave of sharp intakes of breath sounded over the communication channel.
Even though their eyes had seen everything clearly, the scene before them was simply too unbelievable.
