After getting a grasp of the Apocalypse's situation, Xiao Ran had all the department heads leave, leaving only Toda behind in the room that served as both his office and quarters.
Once the others had left, Xiao Ran rose from behind his desk. He gestured for Toda not to stand on ceremony and sit on the sofa, then poured two glasses of wine and handed one to Toda. Taking a seat himself, he said, "Toda, you've managed the Apocalypse very well while I was away. From now on, I can rest easy handing the Apocalypse over to you completely."
Toda nodded without speaking, but he knew exactly where Xiao Ran had gone during this period. As the captain personally appointed by Xiao Ran, a senior member of the Orb Army, and one of the people Xiao Ran trusted, Toda knew much of the inside story. He naturally knew that Xiao Ran had actually been in Frey all this time, and would be spending even more time there in the future. He certainly would not have time to continue looking after the Apocalypse, and Toda had long been prepared for that.
Xiao Ran glanced around and noticed that it seemed no one had entered or left his room for quite some time. He could not help asking, "Where are the three little ones, Stella and the others?"
Toda did not drink the wine Xiao Ran had given him. Instead, he answered, "Miss Lacus took Stella away. Sting and Auel joined the MS training unit, so they aren't living here anymore."
"Those two brats." Xiao Ran shook his head
