Xiao Ran remained unconscious for two days. The moment he opened his eyes, he felt incomparably hollow, his mind completely blank, as though he could not remember who he was, where he was, or what he was doing.
"You're awake!"
A delighted voice sounded by his ear. Xiao Ran slowly turned toward it and, in a daze, saw a girl with crystalline blue hair. Reflexively, he reached out and took her hand, smiling weakly. "Mia..."
"Ah?"
The girl's face instantly flushed at such an intimate form of address, especially with their hands gently clasped together.
It was not the familiarity and tenderness from his memories, but the flustered panic of a young girl with her heart racing. The difference from his memories made Xiao Ran glance reflexively at her stomach. Her flat abdomen seemed to jolt him awake, and all his memories immediately flooded back into his mind, washing away every trace of confusion.
Xiao Ran stared blankly for a moment, then suddenly smiled and gently shook his head. He did not explain that he had called the wrong person at first, merely saying to Shanamia, "Help me sit up for a while."
"Oh, okay." Shanamia nodded dazedly and hurriedly helped Xiao Ran sit up against the headboard. Once he was settled, she asked, "How do you feel? Is anything uncomfortable?"
"I feel pretty good. It's not as serious as I thought." Xiao Ran assessed his condition. His body was clearly healthy, yet he felt weak and drained, especially mentally hollow and listless. Still, it was a little better than he had expected. At least compared to last time, this felt much easier, though he would probably still need a wheelchair for the next couple of days.
Xiao Ran asked, "How long was I unconscious?"
