Chapter 2313–2314: Bewildered
Time continued to pass. For Ernest, Delta Squad, and everyone else aboard the Elysion, the two days of rest had flown by. They had thoroughly relaxed and idled about for two days, yet before they could fully enjoy themselves, they had gathered once more and returned to their posts for the upcoming live-combat training. Whether bridge crew, combat personnel, or logistics and maintenance staff, every member aboard the ship had to take part in this operation.
The notice Ernest received had set departure for eight in the morning, fleet time, but the Elysion had completed all preparations before six. All supplies assigned to the Elysion had been delivered aboard, while Delta Squad and several other squads had all received their new machines and were already seated in their cockpits, working with the fleet Technicians and the ship's Technicians to make fine adjustments to their new aircraft.
There was little need to say much about the standard VF-30. This Variable Fighter was an incredibly powerful, all-around upgraded version of fleet technology fitted with a Solar Furnace. However, the Variable Fighters received by Delta Squad were customized versions, specially modified for their respective pilots.
Given Delta Squad's current capabilities, these so-called customized versions were essentially modified and enhanced VF-30s. They were different versions from the Variable Fighters currently used by Jeffrey Squad and could not match their performance, but they were still significantly improved over the standard VF-30.
Take the machine used by Mikumo, for example. Compared to the standard VF-30, her customized high-speed heavy-firepower type was not simply fitted with armor parts to increase its firepower.
